1. How can I see The
Tallas House & Gardens? Office hours
are from 10:00am
to 5:00pm /
Tuesday through Friday. Appointments are requested due to
daytime events. Evening tours are also available on
Thursday and Saturday mornings by appointment.
2. How many hours will I
have for my event? During a day event, you may
choose any five hour period from 9:00am to 4:00 pm. (i.e. 9am -2pm, 10am -
3pm or 11am - 4pm) For an evening
event, you may choose any five hours from 6:00pm to 12:00 midnight ( i.e.
6:00 pm- 11:00pm
or 7:00pm -
12:00 midnight). The five
hours include vendor breakdown. At the end of
your five hours, premises should be vacated.
3. What time
can my vendors arrive to setup? You
are given two hours immediately prior to your reserved 5
hour rental for vendor setup
4. Can I have my wedding
ceremony at The Tallas House? Yes. Your ceremony can
be held at the venue. Your ceremony should always start 30
minutes after your contract begins. This assures that your
guest will not arrive during your vendor setup
period. There is a ceremony site
fee. The fee includes setup and breakdown
of the ceremony site area, a pair of kneeling benches, a
unity candle, a pair of 7 lite candelabras, a pair
of candle lighters, a cordless microphone, a pair of
white columns (3 ft. tall), a traditional wedding
arch and white garden chairs for your ceremony guests
per your contract specifications.
5. May I purchase
additional time? Yes - Depending on
availability. Seventy-two (72) hours prior
to the event, you may purchase an additional
hour for $300.00. Also, if you exceed
your license period during the event, there is a
$300 fee for each hour or fraction of an
hour.
6. Are garden ceremonies
available? Yes, we offer a beautiful outdoor ceremony
area. We can accommodate up to 150 people for an
outdoor ceremony.
7. Does The Tallas House
have a back up plan if there is inclement weather?
Yes. The ceremony may be moved indoors. If there is a 40%
chance of rain three (3) hours prior to the
scheduled event, the ceremony will be setup inside.
8. Does The Tallas
House offer full service catering? Yes. The Tallas
House & Gardens features a full-service catering
team.
9. Will I be
allowed to bring in my own caterer? No, THG
provides culinary staff for all
events.
10. What happens if my vendors
do not vacate the premises by the end of the license
period? It is the Client's responsibility
to inform their vendors of the setup and breakdown
policies. If the vendor exceeds the contracted
license period, the CLIENT will be responsible for
paying the penalty fee of $300.00 per hour or fraction of
the hour beyond the contracted license period.
11. Will I be
allowed to have my own decorator or will The Tallas House
take on that responsibility? Yes. You will be
allowed to bring in your own decorator. Your decorator
must adhere the guidelines detailed in The Tallas House
& Gardens House Policies. However, depending
on the package you choose, The Tallas House & Gardens
will provide all your linens, chair covers, and
center pieces, etc.
12. How do I
reserve The Tallas House & Gardens for my wedding?
The facility can be reserved with a signed
contract, a fifty percent (50%) deposit of the entire
rental fee, including sales tax, and a $500.00
catering deposit.
13. When is the
remaining balance due? The remaining balance is due
thirty (30) days prior to your event along with a three
hundred dollars ($300.00) security deposit. This security
deposit is refundable if there are no damages during the
event.
14. Once I reserve the venue, will I be able
to get a refund if I change my mind?
After contract is signed,
all deposits are nonrefundable. Further details are
available in The Tallas House Rental Agreement.
15. What types of
payment options are available? We accept Visa,
MasterCard, personal check or cash. However, all
transactions made 30 days or less before the
scheduled event must be settled with a credit card or
cash.
16. Are there
certain times of the year when special pricing is
available? We offer special pricing in January,
February and November.
17. Will there be
a Tallas House Representative available during my
event? Yes. A Tallas House Representative will be on
the premises during your event to address your
concerns. The
Tallas House Representative will work closely with your
coordinator to provide assistance whenever
possible.
18. How many people can
The Tallas House & Gardens accommodate? The
Tallas House & Gardens can accommodate 150 guests
(standing reception). For inside
seating, 120 guests can be accommodated.
19. What other type of
events can be hosted at The Tallas House &
Gardens?
The Tallas House & Gardens is not only for
weddings and receptions but also Anniversary parties,
birthday parties, CD release parties, Art Shows, corporate
events, business meetings, training sessions &
seminars, brunches, lunches, etc.
